There are so many ways a woman’s relationship with her body can change throughout her life. We grow, we age, we soften, we heal, and sometimes our bodies carry visible reminders of everything we have lived through. Yet somewhere amongst all of that change, it can become incredibly easy to look at ourselves and see only the things we wish were different.

I created Embodied from a desire to explore what it might feel like to step away from that constant judgement and simply exist within our bodies with a little more kindness.

I didn’t want this collection to tell women that they should love every part of themselves every time they look in the mirror. I don’t think acceptance always looks like that. Sometimes it is much quieter. It is choosing not to speak cruelly to yourself. It is recognising everything your body has carried you through. It is allowing yourself to change without believing that every change has taken something away from you.

The three women within Embodied, Anthesis, Florescence and Everbloom, each hold a different expression of that idea. Their bodies are visible and unashamed, while flowers bloom across them as symbols of growth, life and the beauty that continues to unfold through every season we inhabit.

Perhaps that is what I wanted most from this collection, to create women who are not waiting to become different before allowing themselves to feel worthy. They are simply here, inhabiting themselves fully and without apology.

Embodied is for every woman who has ever looked at her body and wished it were different, and for the quieter part of her that is beginning to wonder what might happen if she stopped fighting it.

Because this body has carried you through an entire life.

Perhaps it deserves to be met with kindness.
