Meaning Behind the Piece:
Garden of Memories reflects the way certain places quietly become part of who we are.
The painting was created during a time of transition, when one chapter of life was coming to a close and another had not yet fully begun. Outside the studio where this piece was painted stood a cherry blossom tree that returned each spring, filling the air with soft pink petals and marking the passing of seasons with quiet reliability.
As the painting developed, the blossoms naturally became part of its story. Real petals from that tree were pressed into the layers of the work, allowing the memory of that place to live within the painting itself. They remain embedded beneath the surface, preserved between marks of colour and texture.
Cherry blossoms have long symbolised the fleeting nature of time and the beauty of moments that cannot be held forever. In this piece they also represent continuity. Even when we move forward and life changes around us, the experiences that shaped us continue to exist within us.
Garden of Memories honours the spaces and moments that leave a lasting imprint. It reminds us that memory is not something we lose when we move on. Instead, it becomes part of the landscape we carry with us, quietly shaping the paths we walk next.

Each of my paintings is created through layers of mixed media, allowing colour, texture, and mark making to evolve naturally over time. I work intuitively, responding to what the painting begins to reveal rather than forcing it into a predetermined outcome.
Because of this layered process, every piece carries subtle details that continue to reveal themselves over time.

Because I work with oil over layered mixed media, some newer paintings require additional time in the studio before they are ready to travel, to ensure the surface arrives with you in perfect condition.
