Meaning Behind the Piece:
I painted this from a very personal place, which is probably why it took me longer than most to understand what it was actually about.
I have spent years living between two worlds that most people assume cannot coexist. The discipline of systems engineering, where everything has a logic and a reason and a measured outcome, and the studio, where I pick up the palette knife and let colour go wherever it needs to go. For a long time I told myself these were different sides of me, that I had to move between them rather than inhabit both at once. That I was one person at a desk and a different person in front of a canvas. This painting is where I finally stopped believing that. A Mind in Bloom belongs to The Infinite Mind collection within the Limitless Women universe as a portrait of the identity I know most intimately: the woman who refuses to choose between her intellect and her creativity, between the precision she was trained for and the expression she cannot live without. Neither is more true than the other. They are the same person. They were always the same person. The only thing that was ever in the way was the story she had been told, and quietly started to tell herself, about which one she was allowed to be.
This painting is for the woman who has ever been told, directly or by the way people react to her, that she needs to pick one. The analytical or the creative. The serious professional or the passionate maker. The structured or the free. She is the one who has sat in a boardroom and felt a poem forming in her chest and said nothing, the one who goes home and paints or writes or makes, and then shows up the next morning like that other version of herself is a private thing, a secret self that does not quite belong in the room where the important work happens. This painting asks her to stop keeping that secret. It is the declaration that the two were never at war. They were always, quietly, collaboratively, the same mind. And that mind was always in bloom.
This painting exists only once and will never be recreated.

About the Painting Process
About the Painting Process
Each of my paintings is created through layers of mixed media, allowing colour, texture, and mark making to evolve naturally over time. I work intuitively, responding to what the painting begins to reveal rather than forcing it into a predetermined outcome.
Because of this layered process, every piece carries subtle details that continue to reveal themselves over time.
Where This Piece Belongs
Where This Piece Belongs
This painting works beautifully in spaces where art is meant to be felt rather than simply noticed, above a console table, in a living room, or in a quiet reading corner where colour and presence can anchor the space.
Seen Up Close
Seen Up Close
In person the surface carries far more depth than photographs can capture. Subtle textures, layered colour transitions, and small marks appear differently as light moves across the canvas throughout the day.
